PPC-1B Portable Pulse Counter

PPC-1B Portable Pulse Counter

The PPC-1B Portable Pulse Counter is a low-cost test device for
counting a meter’s KYZ pulse outputs, for either field test, lab or permanent applications.

The PPC-1B supplies its own wetting (sense) voltage to one side of the new photo relay’s outputs and the other lead counts the closures or “pulses” of that output. It is configured as a Form A (2-Wire) device to test one side of the Form C output at a time. The PPC-1B can be used with either
mercury-wetted, electromechanical or solid-state relay outputs.  It is powered with a 12VDC Wall Power Supply or another 12VDC Power Supply.

Designed for the rigors of the field, the PPC-1B is packaged in a nearly indestructible NORYL enclosure. Provided are two banana jack input leads with probes for connecting to wires or terminals of the meter’s KYZ output. Upon each transition of the KYZ output, the counter will register a count and update the display. The 8-digit display allows a maximum count of 99,999,999 and features non-volatile memory of the pulse count.  It can be manually reset by the field technician at any time. Thus, the PPC-1B can be used to ensure that the pulse output is operating satisfactorily.  The PPC-1B’s cover can be rotated by 90, 180 or 270 degrees to put the input jacks in the preferred side for your application.
